Team WeTrade x Phantom Global continued its front running form in the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season at Fuji Speedway, where Rodrigo Dias Almeida delivered another composed and competitive weekend to remain second overall in the championship standings heading into Thailand. Returning to one of Japan’s most recognised circuits, the Fuji weekend brought another high pressure round to a season already shaping into a tightly contested title battle across Asia’s premier one-make racing series.
Set against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, the Japanese circuit returned to the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia calendar as one of the most demanding stops of the season. With its legendary 1.5 kilometre straight followed by a tight and technical final sector, Fuji rewards drivers capable of balancing outright speed with precision under pressure. Across the weekend, Rodrigo and the No. 8 WeTrade x PGR Porsche remained firmly among the leading group.
Against a field featuring Porsche Juniors, established international teams and front running championship contenders, Rodrigo delivered another composed weekend for WeTrade x PGR. After setting the fastest time in opening practice with a 1:41.219 lap, the No. 8 Porsche remained competitive throughout both rounds at Fuji, reinforcing the pace and consistency that have followed the team since the opening stages of the season.
Rodrigo qualified third for Round 5 before finishing fourth after remaining inside the lead group through a demanding race shaped by incidents and changing pressure across the field. In Round 6, he recovered from fifth on the grid to secure another fourth-place finish, protecting valuable championship points across a circuit known for punishing small mistakes at high speed.
The Fuji race weekend continued to strengthen the position of Team WeTrade x Phantom Global within the overall championship picture. Across Shanghai, Zhuhai and now Fuji, the No. 8 entry has remained consistently present near the front of the grid against one of the most competitive fields in the category.
The result leaves Rodrigo firmly in second overall in the standings as the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season moves deeper into its title fight. More importantly, it keeps Team WeTrade x Phantom Global positioned as one of the category’s benchmark entries heading into the second half of the year.
Fuji also continued to highlight the technical strength of the Phantom Global Racing operation. The circuit’s demands placed heavy focus on braking stability, setup balance and confidence through the final sector, yet the No. 8 WeTrade x PGR car remained competitive across every major session of the weekend.
For WeTrade, the performance continues to reflect a partnership operating at the front of one of Asia’s premier one-make racing championships. Across Shanghai, Zhuhai and now Fuji, the WeTrade x PGR programme has established itself as a consistent presence among the leading teams and drivers on the grid.
Attention now shifts to the Bangsaen Street Circuit in Thailand from 3 to 5 July, where the championship enters a completely different environment. Narrow streets, concrete barriers and limited margins for error will present a new challenge as the fight for the 2026 title continues.
With momentum still firmly intact and the No. 8 car remaining second overall in the standings, Team WeTrade x Phantom Global heads into Thailand still positioned at the centre of the championship battle.
